What is a Didjeridoo Making Workshop?

A didjeridoo making workshop is when you create a didjeridoo from a raw eucalyptus log.
During the workshop you will be making, decorating & playing your very own
mallee eucalyptus didjeridoo handpicked and cut by Lewis from the Australian outback.

What is provided?
Everything you need will be provided, such as;
One raw didjeridoo from Australia, hand picked, de-barked and oiled by Lewis.
Paint for decorating the instruments. Beeswax for mouthpieces. Guidance for decorating the instrument.
Tips on playing & circular breathing exercises. All tools will be provided.
(Don't wear your good clothes, they may get stained.)

What tools will Lewis be showing you how to use?
A sharp knife, hand saw, rasp/ file, hammer & chisel, wood burner, paint brushes, sponges, and the essentials for playing good didje, (lips, lungs & tongues).

How long is the workshop?
Most workshops are between 4 and 8 hours. It is best to check the start and finish times for each one to be sure. Workshops usually consist of 10 people in each.
At the beginning of the day you are given a hollow log, by day’s end you have made your very own concert quality didjeridoo.

What does the workshop cost?
The cost is USUALY US$250.00, but this March I am feeling generous, so they are US$175.00 and you get to keep the didje! (One of Lewis's didjeridoo’s alone sells for US$350.00+).
You get to keep your didjeridoo, you get the satisfaction of knowing you created this fantastic instrument, you get a great cultural experience, you get personal instruction and guidance
from one of the worlds respected didjeridoo makers and players.
